A visit to Belimo Germany

MERLIN is part of the action, because it’s part of the team: it thinks for itself, adapts and reminds us that at sea (and on land) there is no room for error. For 20 years, we have been refining a way of working that combines technical precision with a human touch… and METS is the perfect place to showcase it.

AHU Lap

In the AHU Lab, we gain practical insights into how air-handling units work, including their individual components, as well as a comprehensive overview of all Belimo’s application-specific field devices.

The AHU Lab focuses on an air-handling unit with which the following functions can be demonstrated and tested:

✓ Heating, cooling, humidification and dehumidification to precisely control all key parameters for healthy indoor air quality

✓ Replacement of the heat recovery unit (plate heat exchanger, KVS, rotor) using a modular design

✓Simulation of specific system conditions, e.g. heat recovery system icing, filter fouling

The Cube

In the ‘Comfort Zone’ test room, Belimo demonstrates the following functions:

✓ Ventilation systems with variable air volume (VAV) that ensure the correct amount of fresh air is supplied and that contaminated air is removed from the room in a controlled manner

✓ Precise measurement of temperature, relative humidity, CO₂ and VOCs using Belimo’s field instrumentation – comprising active and passive sensors as well as room control units – to ensure maximum comfort in the room

✓ Belimo energy valves, which enable continuous dynamic hydraulic balancing and thus energy-efficient, demand-based energy distribution
